Meet the world famous heavyweight champion of state-of-the-art high end headphone amplifiers, the Headtrip headphone amplifier from Wells Audio. First conceived and designed at the request of the world's best headphone manufacturer (Abyss Headphones) to drive their particularly difficult to drive headphones it has been a wil success as what many consider to be the best headphone amplifier on the market. It was conceived originally as a scaled down example of our award winning stereo amplifier, the Innamorata and has gone on to garner praise and awards from many audio circles as the very best sounding headphone amplifier in high end audio. As with all of our products it is an entirely original design that is custom hand built in the USA using through hole technology to incorporate the best audio components that money can buy allowing us to accommodate incorporation of any customer requested special features.

Building off of the the technical innovation of the Innamorata Signature comes the absolute state-of-the-art in headphone amplifiers, the Wells Audio Headtrip.
A scaled down version of our Innamorata Signature, the Wells Audio Headtrip may be the most advanced and powerful headphone amplifier on the market. It is a true dual-mono amplifier that is heavily biased into class A power, so it can easily drive even the most inefficient headphones to very loud levels. But power is not its only attribute. It shares all of the same legendary musical characteristics that have excited the high end community since the introduction of the Akasha and Innamorata amplifiers. Richness, fullness, effortless dynamics both micro and macro, transparency, tonal color, huge soundstage, tremendous bass, silky extended highs, vanishingly low noise floor, and an unmatched musical naturalness that will have you believing that you are truly experiencing the best that headphones have to offer.
In addition to Bybee Labs AC purifiers for AC line noise filtering and Bybee Music Rails for up to -45db of DC noise filtering, on the Headtrip we've also added a rare feature--front mounted right and left channel polarity flip switches. Up to 30% of all digital recording are recorded out of polarity. On the Headtrip you can restore these recordings to way that they were intended to be listened to.
What They're Saying about HeadTrip
The Reference (shown here in prototype, and targeting a $14k price point) really takes the gloves off [cough]. That is, it upgrades the innards still further, leveraging ultra-premium parts across the design, including some ultra-tweak secret-sauce signal/power conditioners from Magnetic Innovations.
[...] Sonically, I think all three headphones are quite refined and a significant step up from your granddad’s headphone amp (that is, an amp from about 3 years ago), but aside from easily driving the living snot out of every flagship headphone on the planet, including representatives from ENIGMAcoustics, Abyss and HiFiMAN, I’m going to have to spend a lot more time exploring to have a definitive judgment. All I can say at this point?
Bwahahahahaha! All your base are belong to us!
Ahem. Sorry. Yes — I meant to say, they are impressive. Most impressive.
